Graduate Student
Representative
Augusto Salles was introduced as the graduate student representative serving on the
committee.
Action on
Minutes
The minutes from the First Meeting, dated September 2, 2003, were approved.
Communications
Handbook
Because the committee strongly endorses use of the Communications Handbook, which
was updated over the summer, a motion was approved requesting distribution of a copy of
the revised handbook to all Business faculty. Additionally, the committee requested a
cover memo from the dean be included encouraging faculty to reference the handbook in
their courses when appropriate and promote its use. As the handbook will be required
for UBUS 311, the committee felt it should be more explicitly incorporated into that
course.
OMIS Items
The committee approved revisions to the requirements for the undergraduate major in
operations and information management and to the requirements for the M.S. in
management information systems degree. (See page 1of 1)
Certificate of
Graduate Study
in MIS
Discussion continued regarding the Certificate of Graduate Study in Management
Information Systems. Suggestions were given by the committee, with further discussion
to take place at the next meeting.
ACCY Revision
A revision to the catalog copy concerning the certificate of completion of internal audit
course work was reviewed. Further discussion will take place at the next meeting.
Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 3:22 p.m.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 30, at 2:00 p.m.
Minutes approved: September 30, 2003
