Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the Third Meeting dated October 3, 2007, were approved as
presented.
Assessment Statements
Statements regarding assessment which will appear in the next editions of the
Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs were brought to committee members’
attention.
University Policy
Changes
Marcellus explained revisions to the university policy for dropping a course,
deletion of the pass/fail option, and the deadline for withdrawing from a
course.
UBUS 458
The committee approved a new course, UBUS 458, Internship in Business
Administration. Business administration majors are currently the only business
students who do not have an internship course specific to their major. (See
page 1 of 2)
MGMT 443
A revision to the prerequisite for MGMT 443 was discussed. Members voiced
concern with the proposal and asked for further clarification from the
department.
OMIS 351
Members were reminded to seek input from their departments preferably
before the end of November for any recommended improvements to the OMIS
351 course.
MGMT 395
The committee approved a proposal to add MGMT 395, Career Planning in
Management, as a required course of all management majors. (See pages 1-2
of 2)
Career Course for B.S.
Bus Adm Majors
UBUS 395, Career Planning in Business Administration, was approved as a
new course specifically for business administration majors. All other business
majors have such a course available in their programs. Committee members
commented that career planning and job search skills need to be reinforced
continuously throughout students’ major degree programs. (See page 1 of 2)
Diversity as Content
Area
Prabhaker shared with the committee that AACSB recommends learning
experiences in diversity be included in the curriculum. The college will need
to document where topics dealing with diversity are taught across the
undergraduate degree program.

The meeting adjourned at 3:17 p.m.
Next Meeting
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 6, at 2:00 p.m.
