The minutes of the Ninth Meeting dated March 18, 2008 were approved electronically.

College Mission

Statement

Sarah Marsh was present to answer questions from the committee regarding the proposed Certificate of Graduate Study in Leadership. After discussion, the certificate was approved as revised. (See pages 1-2 of 2)

The Assurance of Learning goals for the business administration major were reviewed and approved.

A proposal from the Accountancy Department was discussed to revise the prerequisites in graduate courses from course numbers to textual description.

This would allow students to more easily register for classes via MyNIU.

Further discussion will take place at the next meeting.

The catalog description of the college mission statement was discussed. The committee approved the omission of the objectives listed under the mission statement (second paragraph) as they represent operational imperatives on how
