Tech’s Plant and Soil Science Department adds noted plant physiologist
Mendu
Venugopal Mendu, a research scientist who specializes in plant physiology and
biochemistry, has been named an assistant professor in Texas Tech University’s
Department of Plant and Soil Science, according to officials within the College of
Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. He officially stepped into new his teaching
and research post on July 1. more

Terry Crofoot, a longtime supporter of Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences
and Natural Resources, today (Jun. 18) was presented a ‘Volunteer Service Award’ from
the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association in Alexandria, Va.
Crofoot is vice president of Crofoot Cattle Company, a family-owned cattle ranching,
real estate and quarter horse business based in Lubbock. more »
DC’s Doorstep; AEC’s Meyers leads ag communications group to
Washington
A select group of Texas Tech agricultural communications students participated in a
week-long trip to Washington, D.C., last month. Led by AEC Assistant Professor
Courtney Meyers, the program focused on the nation’s history, agricultural policy, and
meetings with a dozen agricultural organizations. more »
