legend for years to come. An endowed scholarship to honor Mary Lou Flom, administrative business
assistant for the department, has been established in her name. The scholarships will go to

and Natural Resources, Jordanna Franklin is achieving her life-long dream of entering
the medical field. The fourth-year medical student will graduate in May from the Texas
Tech University Health Sciences Center, with hopes to begin a pediatric residency soon

Above and Beyond: AFS’s Brooks tapped for Professing Excellence
Award
An outstanding instructor and veterinarian with Texas Tech’s Department of Animal
and Food Sciences has been selected to receive a Professing Excellence Award. The
honor will be presented to Tiffanie Brooks in a special ceremony at 3 p.m. on
Wednesday (Mar. 30) at the Red Raider Lounge in the university’s Student Union
