SMOV Status & Planning Meeting Notes
8/28/09
-
Summary - Some anomalous dark spots have been seen in WFC3 IR images. The
cause is unknown and the investigation is ongoing. The COS team has determined the
optimum FUV focus and has prepared the command arguments for uplink. NUV sensitivity,
imaging performance, and NUV/FUV target acquisition analyses are ongoing. FGS2R
Dark/Background analysis has completed; results are nominal and in family with other FGSs.
STIS window glow continues to be monitored. The NICMOS Dewar temperature stability is
being monitored while the tiger team discusses plans for set point and circulator speed
adjustments. NICMOS SMOV likely to start in SMS257 (Sep. 14).

OPUS (TEllis)
 One WFC3 association for proposal 11647 error in calibration
 due to different readout sample sequences being used for the
member exposures.
o Howard Bushouse filed TRANS OPR 63367 to prevent
associations of this type from being formed
o manual database changes will be required
 to allow us to reprocess the members of the
association as unassociated exposures.
 We also had 3 WFC3 associations for proposal 11934 error in calibration
 a new flat field reference file delivery is needed for these.

63 more COS associations failed in the DADS catalog updates (known
problem).
On Wednesday quick-fix 2009.2k was installed.
 This included a new version of CALACS
o allowed us to process 10 ACS associations for proposal
11889, which had errored in calibration with segmentation
violations.
 It also included a new version of CALWF3
o enabled us to process 2 WFC3 associations (proposals
11570 and 11685) with Previous errors in calibration due to
member exposures with different values of NSAMP.
We also reprocessed 97 COS associations and 1 unassociated COS
exposure which had previously failed in the DADS catalog updates.
No fast-tracking for the remainder of this week.
