LENOIR COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT PROCESSING ASSISTANT IV-MEDICAID TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR GRADE: 59 DATE: November 25, 2013 SALARY RANGE: $21,230-$37,462 POSITION NO: 5310-04-108 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and arrange transportation services for recipients of Medicaid. This position will interview the client to obtain necessary information, conduct computer searches to verify Medicaid, complete assessment of client's transportation needs, arrange transportation, issue a voucher authorizing transportation, schedule Transit transportation using an automated system, complete a notice for the client, and document the case record. This position will set up and maintain the Medicaid transportation case files and respond appropriately to customer and provider requests for transportation assistance. This position is responsible for ensuring that the agency's transportation policies are followed. This position will also type letters, forms and reports. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The ability to adjust to sudden changes in work duties and procedures, be flexible, able to handle interruptions efficiently and effectively, able to work well under pressure and while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines. Ability to effectively comprehend and communicate verbally and in writing, to maintain confidentiality, to maintain accurate and systematic records, to set priorities, and to accurately proofread completed work. The ability to handle the clientele and high volume of telephone calls. Must have good typing skills, a thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, E-mail, good calculator skills, and a pleasant phone voice. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma and two years of clerical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
