TRANSITIONS RE-EMPLOYMENT
NETWORK ANNOUNCES PARISH JOB
BANK: HOW YOU CAN HELP.
The Parish Transitions group continues to meet
Wednesdays after the 12:15 Mass in the Friary
Room to provide support and practical advice
for parishioners seeking a return to work. All
are welcome. In the coming weeks, the St.
Ignatius website will feature links to a list of
parishioners seeking work and also a list of job
opportunities posted by members of our parish
community. YOU can help this effort by listing
positions you know about and making referrals
on behalf of job-seekers in the parish. If you
have contacts or information you're willing to
share to help other parishioners find new
opportunities, please email us (Ignatius@bc.edu)
and join our network!
SAVE THE DATE: PARISH NETWORKING
NIGHT - Sunday, April 26th
6:30-8:30
Shouldn't we all know more folks in the pews
next to us each week? Make personal and
professional connections and form some new
relationships during a casual evening of
conversation and networking after the 5:30
Liturgy. Sponsored by the St. Ignatius
Transitions initiative and open to all
parishioners. For more information, call the
parish office at 671-552-6102 or email
ignatius@bc.edu.
There will be NO Transitions Meeting in the
Friary Room this Wednesday, April 15th .

DAYS AND COUNTING!
TEAM IGNATIUS is set up on the
Project Bread website (www.projectbread.org). You can register online or use the
registration materials that are on the Outreach table and at church doors.
Walkers are needed, as are volunteers (there’s a real need for Walk day volunteers
this year); both forms are available. And Sponsors are needed, too; you can pledge
online, for any individual Walker or TEAM IGNATIUS. We surpassed our goal last
year and hope to do the same this year (our goal is $3,000).

quick response to this would be greatly appreciated! We’re planning to serve over
200 Guests this year.

2009 PARISH SUPPORT PROGRAM—PLEDGE FOR THE GREATER GLORY
Recognizing that each of us is facing more difficult economic times, we would still like to
encourage those not contributing to the parish to do so to the best of their ability. The Pledge
Campaign is the method that St. Ignatius Parish uses to collect regular contributions in support
of the parish. Over 500 parishioners are now participating in this program. Many parishioners
are making their contributions by credit cards and bank transfers, which is particularly helpful to
the parish on those weekends when stormy weather or vacation schedules prevent people from
attending Mass and putting cash in the basket. But if you prefer to contribute by envelope, you
can do that, too.
Please do your part to support this wonderful parish by signing up for the Pledge for the Greater
Glory if you are not now signed up. Call or stop by the rectory to sign up. And if you are
currently participating, please consider increasing your pledge!

The Young Professionals for Nativity Prep group is hosting an event at the Jesuit Collaborative at
300 Newbury Street in Boston. The evening will include a silent auction of artwork created by
Nativity students and local artists, a raffle, and viewings of a short documentary film produced
by Nativity students. The entry fee of $20 includes beer, wine and appetizers. Feel free to stop in
for a drink or stay for the duration of the event. For more information about the Nativity
Preparatory School and its mission please visit www.nativityboston.org.
BOOK DISCUSSION - Have you ever imagined spending a weekend with God? In William
Young's book, The Shack, the author takes us not to a retreat house but to a shack for a unique
experience of God. On Sunday, April 19th, at 11:15 in the rectory living room there will be a
discussion of this bestseller. Please join us.

THE 17TH ANNUAL BLESSED JOHN XXIII NATIONAL SEMINARY GOLF TOURNAMENT
is scheduled for Monday, May 18th, at The Weston Golf Club. This premier charity event is held
to benefit the educational program for the seminarians. Tuition covers only half the cost of
educating a seminarian and the proceeds from this tournament will help bridge the gap and keep
the cost of educating them affordable. The $250 player entry includes lunch at the Club, 18 holes
of golf with cart, and door prizes; followed by a social hour, silent auction and dinner for each
golfer and a guest at the seminary. To register, call Kate Folan at 781-899-5500 or visit

NEW ARCHDIOCESAN WEBSITE - The Archdiocese of Boston has launched a new website
designed to bring Catholics closer to their faith and to offer the wider community an expanded
and more comprehensive view of the Church. The new website, www.BostonCatholic.org, was
launched on St. Patrick’s Day and contains helpful information on the Church with links to
parishes. It also offers a number of new features, including a video welcome message from
Cardinal Seán, streamlined navigation, and many new videos and slideshows.
Each office,
service and ministry has dedicated space on the site.
The Priests and Staff of St. Ignatius
wish you
all the blessings of this Easter Season.
