P ROTECTING G OD ’ S C HILDREN P ROGRAM
The Archdiocese of Boston requires all volunteers (in whatever capacity) to complete a training program in child abuse protection. If you are thinking of becoming a volunteer in any of our ministries (lector, coordinator of liturgy, choir member, etc.), or if you are already a new volunteer in any ministry, you must be able to verify your attendance at a Protecting God’s Children (PGC) program. If you have completed this program in another location, you should have a certificate of attendance given you at that time. We need a copy of that certificate. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the appropriate supervisor of your ministry.
The next program will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 2:30 – 5:00 PM in the Choir/Media room in the Lower Church.
If you plan to attend either session, please contact Mary Blackburn (617-552-6039) or Betty McLaughlin (617-
552-6102 / ignatius@bc.edu) as soon as possible. Space is always limited.
Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for all the children at St. Ignatius parish.
Fr. J.A. Loftus, S.J.
Chair,

▪ Cimentar nuestras vidas en los sacramentos y en el evangelio de Jesucristo;
▪ Centrar nuestra vida parroquial en la alegría del culto a Dios en la Eucaristía;
▪ Invitar a todas las personas de todos los sectores sociales para hacer comunidad con nosotros;
▪ Confortar a los alienados y marginados en su camino de fe;
▪ Proporcionar oportunidades para el enriquecimiento de la oración y la vida espiritual de los miembros de nuestra comunidad;

Your past generosity has enabled the parish to supply food cards to many persons who came looking for assistance. At this time, we’re just about out of cards, so please consider picking up a card or two when you’re shopping. Stop and Shop and
STAR/Shaw’s cards are the best for our purposes, in the amount of $10. You may put your card contribution in the collection basket or drop it off at the Parish Office. Thank you!
We continue our ministry to the Guests at Pine Street Inn Shattuck Shelter in Forest Hills by serving dinner on the fourth Tuesday of every month. We supply the servers and the desserts – and both are needed! If you’d like to serve, contact Sr. Diane: vallerio@bc.edu or 617-552-
6107. If you’d care to provide a dessert, please bring it to the Parish Office by 4PM on September
24th.
We’ll be visiting
Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park, then heading to Willow Brook Restaurant for lunch and then, across the street, to Mendon Country Gift Barn. The cost of the trip is
$40, which includes the bus and lunch. For further information, contact Sr. Diane at 617-552-
6107. The deadline for reservations is Friday, October 4th.

September 23, at 7:30 pm at the Eliot Church in
Newton Corner . For more information, contact
