BOOK DISCUSSION On February 15th at 11:15 in the parish offices, there will be a discussion of A Rabbi Looks at Jesus’ Parables by Frank Stern. By analyzing Jesus' parables in the light of Jewish sources, a reviewer tells us, "Rabbi Stern is able to reveal layers of meaning within meaning, bringing deep wisdom and healing vision to the surface. This is precisely the kind of responsible scholarship that honors cultural and religious convictions and differences, and which can move the enterprise of faith forward. Anyone who seeks to understand Jesus' message, anyone who seeks to understand the Jewish roots of Christian faith, anyone seeking a Jewish perspective on the stories at Christianity's core, will do well to begin right here.” We will also discuss how Rabbi Stern’s book compares with Amy-Jill Levine’s book Short Stories by Jesus. All are welcome! MUSIC MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES All of our music ministry ensembles are welcoming new members in the new year. Check out the opportunities on the “Ministries” tab of the parish website.
