We have helped develop youth and women leaders, pushed for anti-violence legislation, provided tools for communities to lift themselves out of poverty, and invested in women’s education. And we won’t stop. Help SHAR keep alive the spirit of these four great martyrs by supporting our work through a gift to our general fund or Legacy Fund. SHARE and LCWR are inviting women religious and lay women and men to join us on a special delegation to El Salvador November 28 to December 5, 2015. One itinerary highlight includes a pilgrimage to the martyrdom site of the four women to hear first-hand testimonies by people who knew them. SHARE has spearheaded the initiative to declare this site a national historic monument and is working to make this effort come to fruition during the pilgrimage. Another highlight includes a visit to the martyrdom site of Archbishop Romero and the Memorial Wall. You will learn about the root causes of migration to the US and the current challenges impoverished communities face. You will visit and support grassroots movements of women, human rights defenders, and mothers of the disappeared. Cost is $1,200 plus airfare. Partial scholarships and group discounts may be available from SHARE. For more information about our work, please visit SHAR ’s website at http://www.share-elsalvador.org/ or contact Jose@share-elsalvador.org, tel. 510-848-8487 UPCOMING OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES: MAY 26TH: SHATTUCK FOURTH TUESDAY.
