TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA
The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Alabama is seeking
applicants for a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate (with
appropriate experience) Professor level. The Department of Biomedical Sciences
administratively housed in the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions offers a
B.S. degree intended for undergraduates interested in pursuing post-baccalaureate study in
medical/health professions and biomedical research. Applicants must possess a Ph. D. or
equivalent degree in any area of biomedical science and, at least, 2 years of postdoctoral
experience; undergraduate teaching experience is not required, but the successful applicant will
be expected to teach some combination of pharmacology, genomics, biochemistry, microbiology
and/or anatomy/physiology to undergraduates. The successful candidate will be expected to
develop an active funded research program and mentor undergraduate research projects.
The University of South Alabama is located in Mobile close to the Mobile Bay Estuary and
beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast known for its clean white sand beaches and sparkling Gulf waters.
The Mobile area is also the home of a family-friendly Mardi Gras celebration and is a mecca for
both fresh water and deep sea fishing as well as other water activities. The University of South

Professions, College of Medicine and Mitchell Cancer Institute.
