Grandma’s Tasty French Toast Strips
Ingredients:
- 35 slices whole wheat bread
- 25 whole eggs or egg beater for a healthy substitute
- 1 quart 2 cups lowfat milk
- 1cup sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
Directions:
Cut slices of bread into 3 even strips. Arrange 35 of
these slices of bread in a lightly greased pan. Combine
the eggs, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla in a mixing bowl.
Mix for 5 minutes, or until well blended. Pour the edd
mixture over the pan of bread strips. Cover with plastic
wrap an chill for 4 to 24 hours. Sprinkle cinnamon on
top. Bake on 450 degrees for 35 minutes. Top with
Mama’s Sliced Apple Topping, lowfat yogurt, fresh fruit,
or maple syrup. Serves 50.
