The Role of the Courts in Commercial
Arbitration As the practice of domestic and international commercial
arbitration in Australia continues to grow, so too does
the prevalence of applications seeking the support or
intervention of the courts in arbitration proceedings. Our
panel will discuss the role of the courts in such applications,
including in applications to enforce or set aside arbitral
awards, as well as in applications designed to support
arbitral processes such as applications for the issue of
subpoenas.
