Norbert Lenhard Schaeffler AG Supervisory Board Member After completing his training as a machine fitter at FAG Kugelfischer in Schweinfurt in 1979, Norbert Lenhard worked as an instructor for a youth project of the Action Group for Employee Welfare [Aktionsgemeinschaft fuer Arbeitnehmerfragen, afa], part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. From 1978 to 1980, Norbert Lenhard was a member of the Youth and Apprentice Council and also chairman for part of that time. From 1981 to 1982, Norbert Lenhard did his 16 months of civilian service and then was employed until 1992 as a skilled worker in the Special Machinery Department. From 1983 to 1992, Norbert Lenhard was the IG Metall steward in the Special Machinery Department and was elected to the Works Council at the Schweinfurt location for the first time in 1987. In 1990 and 1991, he participated in the 56th training course of the Work Academy [Akademie der Arbeit] at the University of Frankfurt am Main, with emphases on legal and political sciences, social and financial policy, and economics and economic policy. In 1992 his role became full time, to focus on assisting with the introduction of lean production at FAG Kugelfischer. In addition to his role as the Chairman of the Works Council in Schweinfurt and as the Chairman of the General Works Council of FAG Kugelfischer AG and Chairman of the European Works Council since 2002, Norbert Lenhard has been the Chairman of the General Works Council of Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG and Spokesperson for the Economic Committee of Schaeffler AG since 2006. On the Schaeffler AG Supervisory Board, he is part of the Executive Committee and the Mediation Committee.
