Between June 2012 and June 2013, visits to sexual health content have increased by 48%, with 6.12% of all NHS Choices traffic being made up by visits to sexual health content in June 2013.
During January 2013 peak visits were recorded when they reached 1,981,716. This was a 38% increase compared to the previous month and 12% higher than the next highest monthly total recorded in June 2013 when visits passed 1.76 million. Over the year period between June 2012
and June 2013, visits have remained consistently well above the 1 million mark.
The most visited sexual health-related page between June 2012 – June 2013 was the Live Well contraception guide with 1,652,306 visits. Visits to this page were 8% higher than the visits to the second most visited topic, chlamydia. The third most visited sexual health page was to
information about genital herpes.
The ‘female ejaculation’ video was the most watched during the year period between June 2012-2013, with 49,914 starts, with most starts occurring during January 2013. ‘Can I get pregnant just after my period has finished?’ was the most popular common health question (CHQ), having
58,202 visits in June 2013.
