DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT CLASSIFICATION TITLE: UNIVERSAL INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER II JOB LOCATION: ECONOMIC SERVICES UNIT Job Description: This position is responsible for taking applications, determining eligibility and maintaining cases for any and all of the following Income Maintenance programs: Food and Nutrition Services, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Adult Medicaid, Family and Children’s Medicaid and any other programs deemed necessary. This includes interviewing the customer, verifying information, determining eligibility, maintaining the record, and making changes to the record. This position requires the ability to communicate with applicants and the public at large to obtain data and to explain and interpret rules, regulations and procedures. The worker in this position must have excellent computer skills and have the ability to read and interpret policy, job aides and change notices in the automated system of NCFAST. The employee must be a team player, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks. Other duties may be assigned to the worker when deemed necessary by the Supervisor. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Minimum Training and Experience: One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I or graduation from an accredited Associates Degree Program and two years related experience or High School Diplomacy and three years of related para-professional experience or an equivalent combination of training, experience and education.
