after use.
Storage stability:
Can be stored for about 1 year (from date of production) if kept between
10°C and 35°C. In any case, protect from frost and heat above 40°C.
Stability to electrolyte and in chrome floats:
Not stable.
Stability in vegetable tanning floats:
Not stable.
Benefits
BORRON® WP is a dual purpose auxiliary for waterproof and nonwaterproof leathers which can be fixed with acid or metal salts.
BORRON® WP enhances dynamic water resistance by improving the
distribution of silicone based waterproofing agents and by its own intrinsic
waterproofing effect, (after acid or metal salt capping).
BORRON® WP is also excellent for the wetting back of dried out wet-blue
and crust materials, and is especially useful for waterproof leathers.
BORRON® WP has a dispersing effect which improves the penetration of
subsequently applied retanning agents and fatliquors, without reducing
waterproof or fogging values.
BORRON® WP improves shade intensity and dyestuff exhaustion.
BORRON® WP is free of nonylphenol ethoxylates and as it helps to
improve the uptake, distribution and fixation of fatliquors it can be
beneficial for the COD of spent floats.
BORRON® WP can helps to improve tear resistance, in appropriate
recipes.

BORRON® WP – Special Auxiliary
Application
BORRON® WP can be added to the drum after dilution with water or, it
can be added together with appropriate waterproof or non-waterproof
fatliquors.
The main application for BORRON® WP is in the wet-end production of
waterproof leathers. Depending on the requested article, the following
applications are recommended:
Waterproof
upper leather:
0.5 – 1% BORRON® WP
together with DRYWALK® FAT or DRYWALK® WAS-1
0.5 – 1% BORRON® WP
in a separate bath before the final chrome fixation, for
at least 20 min.
BORRON® WP is recommended for use in the soaking and liming steps
for the production of waterproof articles:
Salted bovine hides
European origin: 0.2 – 0.3% BORRON® WP in main soak
0.1 – 0.2% BORRON® WP in liming
Note: It is advised not to use BORRON® WP in the deliming, bating,
pickling or tanning process-steps.
BORRON® WP is highly suitable for the wetting back of wet blue and crust
materials for waterproof articles:
Wetting back
of crust:
1 – 2% BORRON® WP
in the first bath for at least 30 – 60 min. or, over night
The positive effect of BORRON® WP on the fixation of fatliquors (and
therefore the major reduction in COD of the spent float) and dyes can be
seen in both waterproof & non-waterproof articles:
Upper leather:
0.5 – 1% BORRON® WP
added to the fatliquor mix
Nappa:
0.5 – 1% BORRON® WP
added to the fatliquor mix
Upholstery
wet white:
0.5 – 1% BORRON® WP
applied with each fatliquor addition
