is especially designed to allow an effective bating process, even on hides and skins which have a poor and sensitive collagen structure, thus providing optimum cutting yield.

slackens the hide structure gently without causing loosening of the flanks and keeping the grain tight and the grain enamel intact thus, providing a good basis for firmer leather types.

is added after the deliming agents.
Deliming agents should be dosed in such a way that the pH value of the bating liquor remains within the optimum pH activity range (pH 7 – 9), whilst providing the desired degree of deliming.
The pH value should not be allowed to drop below 5, since otherwise scud fixation may occur and the outer layers of the pelt, particularly the grain, may be damaged due to acid swelling.
For optimum scud release, compatible surfactants, e.g.
BORRON be added to the bate.

The bating effect is more pronounced at higher temperatures, e.g. 37°C, than at lower temperatures. For uniform bating with gentle treatment of the grain, extend the bating period at lower temperatures.
