This research paper focuses on the relationship shared between sport
information directors in the Mid-American Conference and the respective print
sports journalists, in regards to the coverage of collegiate sports. All sport
information directors, and the print sports journalists that cover those schools,
were issued the survey through e-mail. The survey asked several questions
regarding communication and feelings that one profession may have on the
other. From the results of this study, and from the implications of the results, it
seems the relationship sport information directors and print sports journalists in
the Mid-American Conference share is a positive and respected one. There was
much agreement and consensus that the two professions seemed to share. The
results show promise for further research on this topic and possible ground
breaking discoveries of the relationship shared.
