Searching Literature Resource Center Source for Literary Criticism & Analysis Go to the RHS Library Home Page: http://www.district196.org/rhs/library and Click on Literature Resource Center. 1. The Basic Search screen allows you to search by Person (by or about); Name of Work or Keyword. Type in an author’s name. 2. A simple Author search and Selecting All Content Type provides you with everything related to your author, including Literary Criticism, Biographical entries, Topic & Work Overviews, Reviews, Primary Sources and Multimedia (which may include images, audiofiles and selected websites). 3. Searching by Name of Work, and limiting the Content Type to Reviews, Literary Criticism, Primary Sources and Overviews will help focus your results. 4. The Advanced Search screen allows you to focus your research even more. For example: if you wanted to research Joseph /Conrad’s treatment of good and evil in his novels, you can adjust your search strategy to do a Keyword Search using those two topics. 5. The results of this search include: 6 Literary Criticisms, 2 Biographies, 1 Overview & 3 Reviews. 6. The Person Search allows you to search for other authors by theme, nationality, ethnicity, literary movement, genre, place of birth/death, date or century. For example: One of Joseph Conrad’s themes is good and evil. You could find other 19th or 20th Century authors that deal with this theme? 6. Your single Author search also provides you with direct links to recommended and reliable Websites.
