Given our current yearbook structure at Rosemount, to finish the book by spring would require it being a class that runs year long and meets every day. This would cost .2 of a teacher salary. (Jacy & Alli) stated that the student council really did not have preference. Discussed an insert for autographs delivered at the end of the school year. John will share the information with the Yearbook committee. 6:55 - (John) The check has been received and deposited for “Give to the Max”. Money has not yet cleared the bank. John reported that matching funds for this event needed to come from donors. Look for money to clear the bank during February and be reported at the March Site Council meeting. (Michelle) Parent Leader Meeting (Jan 2012) – The district is on track to under spend the current budget by $5 mil; March 9; calendar change for this year, additional teacher workday with students off for elementary schools. Proposed school start on Sept 6 for K-5 with testing the first two days, 4 & 5 Sept. 7:00 (Assistant Principle - Kim Budde) Spoke on LADR - Leading and Developing Readiness, Partnership with Inver Hills Community College. Program designed for the academic middle. Funded by grant money. Targeting first generation college students, students of color, lower income. The program will end up allowing these students to earn Inver Hills Community College credit for English classes their junior and senior years. 7:25 (Mary) Benefit Fund Presentation. January Fund Balance: $14,222.44; Issued $1000 check to John Erlandson (student) for scholarship. Received $100 to the Arts and Received “Give to the Max” check on Feb 1, 2012. It has yet to clear the bank. 7:37 (John) Irish Flex day Analysis – Power point – statistics showing the passing rate for students who received remediation help during T1 Flex days. 7:44 (John) Calendar changes being proposed by Superintendent Berenz for 2012-2013. Power Point showed how increases in teacher time spent working on student data should increase student learning. Exchange: 7:57 (John) RHS received ACT Red Quill Award 8:00 (John) Registration coming to an end next week. 8:03 (Becky & John) – Web advertising fundraiser in the works and should be in place very soon. 8:09 (Becky) discussed the supplies collected during conferences; Food & calculators for 360 communities. 8:13 Irish Update Group – Drive One 4UR School video contest winner - RHS Irish Update students awarded $8,500, used for new video equipment. 8:16(John) Discussed AVID – Advancement via Individual Determination. A program designed to help close the achievement gap for underrepresented students will be planned next year and implemented for the 2013-2014 school year. Program aims to help students from the academic middle move into Honors, AP and CIS courses over the course of their high school careers. 8:25 (Becky) St. Patrick’s Day Fund Raiser, reviewed plans and team Brett, Kim, Tracey & John and their jobs. 8:30 Meeting Adjourned
