Please plan to attend AIM: Arts in Motion on Thursday, April 16 from 6-8pm to see the work they have been producing in their Second and third grade general music students will be singing some songs in the Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Band and Orchestra students will also be performing. Lorem Ipsum 3 Lorem Ipsum Health Clinic News Getting Sick while at school: Please remember that those students that call parents and Parents decide to pick up, then send student to the clinic are not nurse excused absences. Students must come to the clinic and be evaluated and meet some physical/mental need of being sent home. It is important that we are in class. It is against school policy for students to have medication on them – PARENTS should bring medication to the clinic. MEDICATIONS: Please remember we need to follow Burris Policy for medication dispensing ALL medications prescription and over the counter need to be prescribed by a physician. (this policy has been in the Burris handbook and has NOT changed) Over the counter medications include: Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Midol, Benadryl, tums, COUGH DROPS (due to choking hazard), allergy medication… Medication forms will soon be on the Burris website. Medications will NOT be accepted if brought in by student or if NO physician order on file. Physician orders are not the sticker that the pharmacy places on a bottle. Physician’s orders are signed by the physician with instructions. Parents must also sign permission for medications to be given while at school. Physicals: Updated physicals are due for: ALL new students, Kindergarten, 4th & 9th graders. If you have had a sports physical make a copy for the clinic or ask you physician to complete the ISHAA form and the school physical form. Sports physicals are kept in the athletic office. The clinic will not know you have a sports physical on file unless you send a copy to the clinic. It is parent responsibility to get copies to both offices when needed. If your student is sent home from school or kept home from school due to a fever they should be fever free for 24 hours upon returning to school. If they have had issues with vomiting or diarrhea they can return to school 24 hours after their last episode. Contagious Illnesses: Parents should be reporting any cases of pink eye, head lice, bed bugs, scabies, ring worm, whooping cough, strep, flu… to the clinic. The 4th and 5th grade teachers invite you to an informational meeting on April 15, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. The exact location will be announced soon. Sophomore Class Fundraiser The sophomore class is selling laundry detergent and dishwashing products. Order forms are in the front office or from students in the sophomore class. This is a great fundraiser and very cost effective. GMACK Fundraiser in Anderson, IN is the company, and checks should be made out to them. Blue Label products are the same formula as Tide Laundry detergent, Green Label products are the same formula as Gain laundry detergent.
