Management Information Services 03-04 Project Highlights
A new Web-based Faculty Planning and Appraisal system was introduced along with
significant enhancements to Advising Notes, Course Evaluations and Sabbatical Leave
Request… moving routine faculty business to the Web.
The PeopleSoft Financials Phase II implementation is on target for July 1 delivery.
A number of new business applications were developed for the Web: Business Expense
Report, Requests For Service, Vendor Payment, Individual Payment, Journal Voucher
and a new Procurement Card System.
A new Budget Turnaround system was developed for the Web. This two pronged effort
services revenue and support as well as merit and interfaces with the new PeopleSoft HR
and Financials systems.
Many small projects targeted improved HR/Financials integration.
A bill presentment system, allowing student bills to be electronically delivered to (and
paid by) parents, was developed.
A comprehensive new Recruitment/Affirmative Action system was designed.
Continuing Public Relations outreach efforts, the UDaily software was modified to
provide an engine for collecting, coordinating and publishing departmental news.
Students were introduced to a new “What If” feature in Degree Audit allowing them to
evaluate degree progress against a variety of majors.
COGNOS campus-wide reporting tool was acquired and installed.
