VOLUNTEER CORNER...
It is bittersweet for me to announce that I
will be leaving my position as the REPTO
Volunteer Coordinator after the end of the
school year, as our family is moving out of
state. This has been such a fantastic opportunity for me the past two years to get to
know so many students, staff and parents. I
have loved being the Volunteer Coordinator
and will miss it dearly. The REPTO will be
looking for a new Volunteer Coordinator,
with hopes that someone will step up and
can work with me for the remainder of the
school year to learn about the job. Please
contact me if you are interested or have
questions.

Use of e-mail at Rosemount Elementary School:
We value effective communication at our school. The use of e-mail has increased over the last few years. Most of our staff members do not have
their e-mail accounts open during the school day while they are working with students. As stated in our handbook: The staff at RES have an agreement to reply to e-mails within two school days. If your need to communicate with a staff member is urgent, please call the school office (651-4237690) and we will relay your message to the appropriate person.

RES Art Update
We hope you enjoyed
visiting the Robert
Trail Library to view
the Rosemount Elementary School
show. It featured
drawings, paintings,
and photos of our clay sculptures by Kindergarteners through Fifth Graders. The end of
February also signals the close of our RES
Library show, so kids will be bringing that
work home soon. I am so proud of all our students!
The next exciting art event is in March! Students are studying Non-Objective Art. We are
creating expressive designs rather than pictures of familiar objects. We have teamed up
with our PTO to create giant collages that will
be a part of the Silent Auction held to raise
money for our school! These young artists
feel so grown up and professional to be making this contribution. Thanks to the PTO for
their support of the arts! This event also includes an art show, so don’t miss it!
Art projects featuring recycled items will be
coming up soon. If you have empty cereal or
cracker boxes, the art department would appreciate students bringing those in during
March. Thanks in advance for saving some
trees! We will also be learning the math behind human proportions by doing selfportraits.
Students are steadily strengthening their art
skills, and every day I enjoy working with
them more! : )
