ROSEMOUNT HIGH SCHOOL
PASS / NO CREDIT
A student selecting the “PASS/NO CREDIT” option is required to become familiar with its features and rules
located in the Rosemount High School Handbook and course registration guide. This completed form must be
turned into the Guidance and Counseling Office BY THE STUDENT ON OR BEFORE THE TWENTIETH
SCHOOL DAY OF EACH TRIMESTER. NO REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DAY.
Students selecting the “Pass/No Credit” option are expected to take all tests, turn in all regular class work, and
receive marks along with other students. The final mark of “Pass” will be given if the student completes all work
at the passing level. A “No Credit” grade will be given if the student completes all the work, but it is not at a
passing level. An “F” grade will be given if the student does not complete all of the work, according to the
instructor’s deadlines. A credit towards graduation will be granted for a “Pass” mark. No credit toward
graduation will be granted for a “No Credit” mark. Subjects taken on the “Pass/No Credit” basis will NOT be
averaged into a student’s class rank or honor roll standing. The “Pass/No Credit” option allows a student to
convert to the final letter grade earned in the course. Anyone choosing to convert from “Pass/No Credit” option to
a final letter grade must notify their teacher on the last day of class that trimester. The attendance policy has
precedence over Pass/No Credit for grading purposes.

2. Sign your name in the space provided.
3. Ask your parent and teacher to sign in the designated space.
4. Return the completed form to the Guidance and Counseling Office.

** STUDENT ATHLETES CONSIDERING N.C.A.A. COMPETITION AFTER HIGH SCHOOL SHOULD
CHECK WITH THEIR COUNSELOR BEFORE TAKING ANY COURSE PASS/NO CREDIT.
** THE “PASS/NO CREDIT” OPTION WILL NOT AFFECT A STUDENT’S GRADE POINT AVERAGE,
BUT MAY AFFECT THE RELATIVE CLASS RANK. THE RANK WOULD BE AFFECTED IF OTHER
STUDENTS WITH WHOM YOU ARE COMPETING ARE TAKING COURSES FOR GRADES AND
THEREFORE EARNING ADDITIONAL HONOR POINTS.
