Poor quality power prone to this type of interference can cause problems in all sorts of environments, including telecommunications and data centres, medical units, CAS/CAM networks, and process control operations. However, a Liebert Isolation Transformer can play an important role in building power distribution by reducing common mode noise, and its surge suppression system will minimise any problems caused by high-energy transients. It can also be used as a bypass transformer for UPS installations. Noise attenuation of 140dB is achieved with doubleshielded copper isolation transformers. The surge suppression network reduces high-speed high-energy transients and HF noise in the normal mode. Six full capacity taps allow compensation of input voltages of +5% to -10% of nominal without derating. K-rated GIVING SENSITIVE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS EVEN GREATER PROTECTION transformers are also available if additional non-linear load capability is required. For applications where high harmonic loads could be a problem, computer isolation transformers with a K-20 rating are available, as shown in the table.
