Students will learn and apply the elements and principles of art to produce creative projects that reflect their understanding of concepts. Students will learn about many aspects of visual art from art history to aesthetics, criticism, and art production. During the course students will be drawing, painting, print-making, creating sculpture, and developing basic design principles. Materials: Sketch Book: 70 pages medium weight paper, Three Ring Binder: Large 3 inch Textbook: Glencoe ArtTalk Third Edition Attendance: Success in this class is dependent on the student being present for demonstrations and daily activities. Cell phones and chargers will not be permitted in class. Speak quietly and at appropriate times. Do not cause distractions. Do not eat, drink or chew gum in the classroom. Ask permission to enter the backroom or supply room. Student will not use the teacher’s computer or desk for any reason. Clean up after yourself each day and do not waste school materials. Have an open mind to new ideas and express yourself, this is ART.
