Graphic DESIGN
We have a full service design department. With a
combined experience of over 55 years, Barb and
Karen are experts in the field. Let us create your
next project.
Barb Nelson, supervisor, has been designing since 1980. She was a
graphic designer at a print shop in St. Louis Park before joining the
District 196 Print Shop in 1996. In 2001, she took over as supervisor
of the department. Her favorite part of the job is helping the
customers and answering their questions.
Karen Schadendorf, design specialist, has been designing since
1994. She started her career at a newspaper in Iowa, honing her
craft, before joining the district team in 1998. She really enjoys
being creative and using lots of color.
Our Ryobi 2-color press utilizes a digital
platemaker for quality, high-volume press
printing. We offer a wide variety of paper colors
and types to choose from, as well as standard
Pantone (PMS) ink colors.
Donovan Lerch, print specialist, has been in the printing industry
since 1974 and as press operator with District 196 since 1979.
His favorite part of the job is creating quality products that meet
customer expectations.

COPY
We have high-end production copying
capabilities, with saddle stitch (booklet), side
stapling and folding, offered in black/white and
full color.
In addition, we have an HP DesignJet plotter that
produces black or full-color 17x22” posters and
paper banners in a variety of sizes.
BINDery
We offer folding, padding of all types of forms
including printed note pads, hole punching,
power guillotine paper cutting, laminating, and
labeling. For book binding we offer saddle stitch
(booklet), fold and trim on our Bourg Collator;
plastic comb; and side stapling options.
Cindy Bartelt, copy and bindery specialist, has been in the printing
industry 23 years and with District 196 for the last 10. She enjoys
using her broad knowledge in bindery solutions to put the
finishing touches on customer projects.
