Colchester Role Name Brief Biography Panel Chair Liz Redfern Liz Redfern is Chief Nurse for NHS England South. She joined the NHS as a cadet nurse and specialised in neurosciences. Her recent focus has been educating nurses and other health professionals. Liz was awarded a CBE in the 2009 Queen’s birthday honours list for her services to healthcare and nursing. Deputy Panel Chair Chris Gordon Chris Gordon is Programme Director at the NHS Leadership Academy, supporting hospital trust development. He is also a consultant physician in Winchester specialising in Parkinson’s Disease. He was recently a Trust Chief Executive. Patient/Public Representative Neeta Meeta Neeta Meeta has been a Patients Champion for over 20 years, volunteering as a lay person in Health Services, her local authority and in the area of special needs education. For the past two years Neeta has been a member of the Patients and Public Engagement Steering Group for Specialised Commissioning. Currently, Neeta is also a member of the interim Clinical Priority Advisory Group. Patient/Public Representative Trevor Begg Trevor Begg is a former patient representative on the North West London PCT Cluster Board and Chair of Hillingdon LINk. He was recently appointed Lay Member for the governing body of Hillingdon CCG and is currently working with the London Clinical Senate and North West London Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care on patient and public involvement and service innovation and improvement. Patient/Public Representative Margaret Ogden Margaret Ogden has been a volunteer in health for over a decade. She has a background in community development and began volunteering as a fundraiser. She has held lay member positions on two high profile groups; the National Cancer Research Network Clinical Studies Group on Palliative Care and NICE's Diagnostics Advisory Committee. Doctor James Bristol James Bristol is a consultant general surgeon for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, practising in Cheltenham since his appointment in 1989. He has experience as a consultant appraiser and as a member of the Invited Review Mechanism Panel of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and has held executive office within his specialty association. Doctor Andrew Phillips Andrew Phillips is a Doctor on the Rapid Responsive Review Panel. Doctor Colette Marshall Colette Marshall is a consultant vascular surgeon at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. She is a commissioning director for secondary care with Coventry and Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group and the clinical member for secondary care on the Governing Body of South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula Clinical Commissioning Group. Junior Doctor Shelley Griffiths Shelly Griffiths is a core surgical trainee. Having trained in Cambridge and London, she now works in South Devon. Nurse Brigid Stacey Brigid Stacey qualified as a registered general nurse in 1989 in the north west and later specialised in oncology and haematology. Brigid’s previous roles include Director of Nursing and Midwifery at Luton and Dunstable Hospital and Deputy Chief Executive at Walsall Hospitals. Brigid is now Director of Nursing and Quality for the Shropshire and Staffordshire Area Team. Brigid is also a member of the Prime Minister's Nursing and Quality Forum. Nurse Paul Webb Paul Webb is Matron for Oncology and Palliative Care at Nottingham University Hospitals. He qualified as a nurse in 1992 and has experience in surgery, burns and plastics, oncology and palliative care. Nurse Julie Orr Julie Orr qualified as a registered general nurse in 1990 in Bedford Hospital and specialises in A&E nursing. In 2010, Julie was seconded as Head of Nursing for Medicine and Emergency Care and in September 2012, she was appointed to the post of Head of Nursing for Medicine, Emergency Care and Children’s Services. Student Nurse Amy Burgin Amy Louise Burgin is studying children’s nursing at the University of Hertfordshire. Student Nurse Sian Ball Sian Ball is a second year student, training in Hertfordshire to become a children’s nurse. CQC Representative Sue Fraser-Betts Sue Fraser-Betts joined the NHS and qualified in general nursing and midwifery in 1982 and specialised in clinical management as a ward sister, outpatient and day stay manager, and clinical manager. She joined the National Care Standards Commission in 2002, moving to the Health Care Commission in 2003 and Care Quality Commission in 2009. Trust Senior Manager Patricia Miller Patricia holds a masters degree in Health Care Management from Manchester Business School, and is a graduate of the East of England Aspiring Directors Programme. She has worked for the NHS for over 24 years. Patricia is Director of Operations at Dorset County Hospital. Senior Regional Support Gareth Harry Gareth Harry works for NHS England as Regional Head of Planning and Assurance in the Midlands and East Region. Gareth has a background in primary care and community health commissioning and contracting and has managed community and acute hospital services. Gareth was the lead in the Midlands and East for the authorisation of Clinical Commissioning Groups. Senior Regional Support Lyn McIntyre Lyn McIntyre is Deputy Director of Patient Experience at NHS England Midlands and East. Lyn trained as both a general and mental health nurse and has worked across a variety of clinical settings during her 34 year career in nursing. Lyn worked with NHS East of England from 2009, and NHS Midlands and East from 2011 in a variety of quality and nursing leadership roles, including Head of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, Head of Operations for Nursing and Quality and Associate Nurse Director – Ambition Leadership.
