Wisconsin Ag Connection, WI 04-27-07 Four-State Dairy Conference Slated for Mid-June Dairy feeding and management practices that maximize profitability are the focus of a seminar bringing together dairy producers, feed industry personnel, and agribusiness professionals from the Midwest this summer. The Four-State Dairy Nutrition and Management Conference, slated for June 13-14 in Dubuque, Iowa, is sponsored by University of Illinois Extension and Extension at the Universities of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa State University. Topics for the breakout sessions include nutrition and mastitis, trouble-shooting herd nutrition and health, economic considerations of sexed semen in dairy cattle, corn ethanol byproducts, the National Feed Management Project, and making starch work in the rumen. The conference begins at 8 a.m., June 13 with a pre-conference symposium focusing on energy balance issues in dairy cattle. The conference concludes at 11:45 a.m. on June 14. Registration fee prior to June 1 is $125 per person. The fee covers listed meals, breaks, and conference proceedings but does not include the post-conference workshop. Registration after June 1 is $150 pre person. The post-conference workshops are an additional $50 per person with each session having limited enrollment.
