Ag 1 – Intro to dairy cattle
Learning objective Students will understand the academic language that goes with dairy cows.
 Students will be able to identify the various breeds used in the dairy
industry. (Backup plan)
Learning Activity
Discuss the Ag Vocabulary
Have students do a quick write on everything they know about Dairy cattle and anything about
the dairy industry. 5 minutes.
After that students will make flashcards for the terminology, as we go through it on the
PowerPoint.
Once we complete that- have students partner up with their flashcards. Tell students to partner
up. Have them compete against each other- clarify that they should be alternating who goes
and keeping track of score.
Winners compete against each other- losers compete against each other, tournament style.
