Pharmaceutical corn varieties will one day avoid pollen drift
Pharmaceutical corn varieties will one day avoid pollen drift, which risks
crossing them with commercial corn, tainting feed supplies.
A solution appears in sight: Male-sterile, or pollenless, corn that has biotech traits
but can be pollinated by traditional varieties. In three years, Iowa State Univ.
experts plan to produce such a corn, carrying a gene that makes a protein that
helps pigs fight diarrhea
