Updates on the New School of Statistics Building As the School of Statistics approaches its 60th Anniversary (2013), a new building will be constructed to accommodate the growing population of students and the expanding research activities of the faculty. The 4-storey complex will be constructed in two phases. Phase 1 will accommodate classrooms, library, computer laboratories, conference rooms, and faculty rooms. Phase 2 will include additional classrooms, training rooms, discussion rooms (for graduate students and study groups), research support facilities, two 150-seater lecture halls, 400-seater auditorium, student area, and cafeteria. The new building will be constructed beside the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (NISMED) opposite the University Registrar/Office of Admissions. Phase 1 construction will start as soon as the contracting process is completed. The School hopes to transfer in its new building by Summer 2014. The final perspective design of the new building is given below:
