ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION AND PROCEDURE Title: ORDERING AUDIOVISUAL CLASSROOM SUPPORT Policy Reference: Code: EE0108 E0100, Instructional Support Faculty may obtain videotapes, 16mm films, other media, audiovisual equipment, and standard mobile computer on loan for classroom use. Faculty may pick up the material or have it delivered to the classroom. An Audiovisual Catalog and VHS Videotape Catalog of software owned by MATC are available in Audiovisual Services at the Milwaukee campus and in the Media Centers at the regional campuses. Catalogs of audiovisual software available for rental from external sources are also available. Faculty may select audiovisual materials for classroom use from any of these sources. A standard mobile computer system may be ordered which consists of an IBM-PC compatible computer and compatible overhead projection unit. Standard software will be provided on the computer (DOS, word processing, spreadsheet, and database). The ordering of specialized computer systems and software must be arranged through a computer center. Persons ordering audiovisual software should complete "Audiovisual Services Request" Form 88:35. Such requests should be hand-delivered or sent by interoffice mail as follows: Milwaukee Campus North Campus South Campus West Campus Audiovisual Services/Library Media Center/Computer Center Media Center/Computer Center Media Center/Computer Center Procedures: Request should be received by noon of the day prior to the day of use (Form 88:35). When rental fee is involved, obtain the approval of the appropriate instructional dean, designee, or campus dean. Order materials and equipment only for those periods and days it will be in actual use. Dates for use of films from outside sources must be clearly designated on the "Audiovisual Services Request" form, whether it is for one day or one week. Try to schedule films far in advance with optional dates, if possible. Films must be returned to the source the day after faculty's scheduled showing. Follow the procedures described above but allow more lead time. WMVS/WMVT recordings for MATC use are accommodated through Audiovisual Services. The user will abide by all copyright use. The program office of WMVS/WMVT will assist on rights usage.
