Grading Policy: Your grade will be computed as follows: Assessment Homework Quizzes Exams Midterm Exam Final Exam Percentage 15% 15% 30% 20% 20% Additional, you may earn an extra 1% for attending office hours (at least once with a legit question) and completing the end of the semester teacher evaluation. Homework: There will be two components to the homework: 1. Homework assignments will be given each week using MyLabsPlus. Your user name is your ISU Net-ID, and your initial password is the last four digits of your student ID number. You will need an access code, which is bundled with new textbooks; if you bought a used textbook, you will need to buy an access code separately. Click here for some useful information about registering and using MyLabsPlus. 2. Suggested problems from the textbook will be posted on Blackboard Learn. These problems will not be graded, and it is your responsibility to do them. Quizzes: Quizzes will be given during recitation, and will be closed notes. Calculators will not be allowed on quizzes. Exams: We will have two exams (tentative dates: 2/7 and 4/11) that will be held during lecture. Exams will be closed notes, and will be worth 15% each. Calculators will not be allowed on exams. Midterm Exam: There will be a departmental midterm exam that will be given Wednesday, February 26th that will be held at night. There will be a portion of the exam where calculators are permitted. Final Exam: There will a be a departmental final exam given during finals week. There will be a portion of the exam where calculators are permitted. Calculators and Other Electronic Devices: You may use any calculator that does not have wireless communication features, when permitted. Other electronic devices may be used during lecture for educational purposes only. Disabilities: If you have a documented disability that requires assistance, you will need to go to the Disability Resource (DR) Office for coordination of your academic accommodations. Conduct and General Class Policies: I expect all students to behave in a respectful manner during lecture, and you will be asked to leave the lecture if you are being inappropriate and/or disruptive. If you miss a quiz or exam (for a legit reason), you will have one week from the date it was given to schedule a make-up, unless extenuating circumstances prevent you from doing so.
