The student profiled is most likely to be female (58%), white (67%), traditional age (60%), and enrolled in an average load of 9 credit hours per term. Most students are planning to transfer 72.5%, 16.4% are vocational and 11.1% are undeclared. 82% of MCC students are in-district living in one of 12 high school taxing areas (see list below). The schools within or very close to Kansas City have shown a drop in population. These include Center, Hickman Mills, Kansas City and Raytown. Others close to the city showed a small growth including Belton, Grandview, Fort Osage and North Kansas City. The suburban schools Blue Springs, Independence, Lee’s Summit, and Park Hill had significant growth in population.
