- Surveying Application Challenge Problem
Challenge problem - Division of property. Using concepts reviewed in Lab 1and applying
tools from Engr 160/ CE 160/, CE 170, CE 111 and other background, find unknown line
lengths for a surveyed property.
Issue:
Triune Boulevard runs east – west a distance of 500.00 feet along Block 12. The
surrounding streets have Bearings as follows, going clockwise from the southwest corner of
the block.
West Edge St:
N 170 E
Northside Ave:
S 760 E
East Edge St
S 180 E

A potential buyer wants to purchase exactly 3 acres of this lot, with the full frontage of 500
feet on the south edge. The east and west sides are to be on the edge of the lot, and the north
side is to be parallel with Northside Avenue. The heavy dashed line represents the potential

Find the length of the three unknown sides to meet these specifications.
