Minor Entrepreneurship Develop your entrepreneurial mindset at Tilburg University An entrepreneurial mindset is key to anyone’s career, whether it is as an employee within a firm or as a business owner. The minor in Entrepreneurship helps you grow this mindset, develop the necessary business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills, and prepares you to either start-up your own business or bring entrepreneurial thinking to established companies. The minor consists of three courses and in addition offers webbased and practical skills training. It is open to all 3rd year Tilburg University Bachelor’s students and takes place in the first semester. The minor is offered by the Tilburg Center of Entrepreneurship and represents 18 ECTS. The knowledge, skills and certificate help set you apart in your future career. Courses Entrepreneurship: Theory & Practice This course introduces you to the key concepts linked to entrepreneurship. It deals with topics like the nature of entrepreneurial thinking, business models and how to fund and grow start-ups, the importance of the start-up team, developing a good network, finding and learning from your customers. In addition, it challenges you to create or discover an entrepreneurial opportunity. You then evaluate it, develop a plan to validate your business idea, and prepare to attract investors to back your start-up. Introduction to Corporate Entrepreneurship Being entrepreneurial within a company, that’s what this course is about. Large companies tend to focus on running their existing business, become less innovative and inflexible. They can lose sight of the need to innovate, adapt and be entrepreneurial. This course helps you to understand the role and importance of an entrepreneurial mindset in larger corporations. Creative Entrepreneurship In this course you will study entrepreneurship in the context of those industries where creativity is a key element in their value proposition to the public, such as the gaming, film or design industries. You will discuss the opportunities and risks from globalization and the development of the internet and how these changes can lead to new business models and new types of business.
