the evaluation of this examination, so pay attention to these aspects of your writing.
Both parts of the exam will be written during the scheduled exam period.
Part A – Sight Essay and Short Answer Questions (10 marks)

The best review for this section is to complete all questions assigned throughout the
course. The skills you develop are transferable to this situation!
Read the provided passage in its entirety before starting to answer questions.
Read the questions carefully so you know exactly what you are supposed to be doing.
Keep your answers concise. One or two focused and meaningful sentences will be
sufficient for earning each mark.
Part B – Sight Short Story and Argument (40 marks)

This exam is more of a test of your analytic and writing skills than an exercise in
measuring your knowledge of course content. A useful review activity would be to reexamine the argument that you wrote for either the short story unit or your Shakespeare
play. Ensure that you understand the evaluator's feedback to the point that you can apply
it to the exam situation.
After reading the story, remember to annotate the text.
Create an outline or mind map before you begin your paragraphs.
Your argument should consist of about 400-500 words.
Include all the steps of a proper argumentative paragraph in each paragraph of your
argument. If in doubt as to what these are, peruse the argumentative paragraph template
that is on the website. Note that it is advisable at the senior level to break your argument
up into at least two paragraphs.
