1936 saw the completion
of Boulder Dam (Now named
Hoover Dam), the publishing
of Gone With the Wind,
The first artificial Heart,
and the introduction of the
ASCO 905 and 906 Line of
Automatic Transfer Switches.
During the 75 years since
then, there have been many
remarkable changes in
technology, especially in the
electrical and electronics
industries. As these new
technologies emerge, the
older technologies become
obsolete. ASCO has always
taken great pride in building
a quality product and leading
the power switching and
controls industry with new
technologies. The ASCO 905
and 906 Automatic Transfer
Switches were made from
1936 to 1968 so the fact that
there are still many of these
units still in operation after
40+ years of performance is
a testament to that quality.
However, as technology
advanced the components
used in these older transfer
switches became obsolete.
Presently, replacement parts
inventory for the ASCO
905 and 906 have been
completely depleted and no
replacement components
are available for needed
repairs.
