OUR FAMILY SERVICES Volunteer Job Description Title: Development Intern Salary: Unpaid internship Department: Development Minimum Time Commitment: 3 months Reports to: Development Director Minimum Number of Hours Per Week: 5 hrs Primary Purpose: To administratively support the efforts of the Development team in the areas of fundraising, event planning and coordination, grant writing, marketing, and community relations. Program /Department Description: The Development Department coordinates resource development, grant writing, fund-raising, special events, and volunteer programs to support the programs and staff to acquire and maintain the resources they need to provide quality services. Scheduling flexibility: Development assistance is primarily needed weekdays, though some evening and weekend work may be required. Qualifications: Attend on-the-job training and orientation as deemed helpful for the duties to be performed Any volunteer activities that involve direct services to clients will require more intensive screening and training. You are only eligible to volunteer in areas in which you have received appropriate training and meet all the qualifications. If driving is required for volunteer service, mileage compensation may be available from Our Family, though arrangements must be made with your supervisor for approved mileage in advance. Volunteers are not covered by our insurance to drive agency-owned vehicles or transport clients. Must have the capabilities to perform assigned administrative volunteer duties. These could include hearing, sight, and the ability to lift training materials. Arrangements will made, as much as possible, to work assigned volunteer duties around each individual’s capabilities and interests. Computer skills adequate to perform assigned tasks, such as working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use email and the internet.
