APA Style Sheet
APA style is used primarily in Science and Social Science subjects. Entries on a “References”
page should be arranged alphabetically by the author’s last name or by the title (ignore ‘A’, ‘An’
or ‘The’) if no author is given. The format for entries is as shown in the examples below.
Book:
Brown, L. R. (2001). Eco-economy: building an economy for the Earth. New York: W.W.
Norton.
Book (two authors):
Barlow, M. & Clarke, T. (2002). Blue gold: the battle against corporate theft of the world’s
water. Toronto: Stoddart.
Book (editor):
Benedict, M. (Ed.). (2001). MacLean’s people: a gallery of great Canadians. Toronto: Penguin

Organization or institution as author:
