Assignment Submission
Failure to complete major assignments and/or unit tests could result in the credit being withheld.
In order for a student to receive marks for an assignment, it must be completed by the due date
set by your teacher. Students who do not submit assigned work by the due date will complete it
at lunch or may be sent to the library to complete the assignment during class time. In either
case, the assignment will be collected and graded, whether or not it is complete. Alternative
assignments may be given at the discretion of the teacher.
Attendance
Regular attendance is essential to success in grade 9 science. All absences must be
accompanied by an authorized note the first day back to class. If you are absent from class, it is
your responsibility to catch up on any work missed. If you need help with work missed please
set up an appointment so that we can meet outside class time.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of taking ownership of written material or ideas belonging to someone else,
whether knowingly or unknowingly. At CWDHS, plagiarism is strictly dealt with. Please note
that the submission of similar papers will result in consequences for all parties involved,
regardless of who is the original author. Refer to the student agenda for specific guidelines or
ask your teacher if uncertainty arises.
Student Expectations:
 Participation and effort will be evaluated by observing your work habits, communication,
skills and attitude
 Using class time wisely, completing assignments on time, completing homework
punctually, keeping a well organized notebook, being prepared for class with all required
materials
 Listening attentively, understanding and following instructions, verbalizing ideas clearly
and concisely, and having all written work done both neatly and clearly.
 Accepting responsibilities, cooperating with others, sharing of tasks in group work,
treating others with respect, and participating in class discussions.
IF YOU MISS A TEST, AND YOU HAVE A LEGITIMATE REASON WITH A NOTE,
YOU WILL WRITE YOUR TEST AFTER SCHOOL THE FIRST DAY BACK OR AT A
TIME SET BY YOUR TEACHER.
Work hard, stay focused, and take responsibility for your learning.
