NATIONAL SEMINAR

THE SEMINAR
Any venture, policy, service or even a blip
of idea needs to be assessed from various
vantage points, Commerce being one of
the protuberant dimensions. As Henry
Ford puts it, one of the most important
questions to be addressed - Is it needed? Is
it practical? Is it commercial? The seminar
aims to have erudite expositions and analysis on various spheres of Commerce relating to the country in general and the
North East Region in particular. The challenges to ensuring peace and progress in
the NE Region are formidable. The gap
between the region and the rest of the
country in terms of various developmental
outcomes, productivities and capacities of
people and institutions is large and growing, and has to be bridged. Given the complexity of the task, augmenting investment
to accelerate growth in the region is only a
part of the story. The successful transformation of investments into developmental
outcomes requires a variety of strategic
initiatives. The National Seminar is expected to debate and propose such strategic initiatives for the development planners, policy makers, business houses and
other stakeholders.
