Federal regulations require that schools evaluate your federal financial aid eligibility prior to processing a private loan on your behalf. As a result, we encourage you to exhaust your federal loan options first by completing and submitting a 2015–2016 FAFSA. If you are an international, aid-ineligible, or less than half-time student, or if you do not intend to use any federal grants or loans offered to you, you may decline your federal awards by submitting a Title IV Funding Waiver, located at drexel.edu/drexelcentral/about/forms. After you have been approved by your lender, Drexel Central will be notified to further review your eligibility for funding. If you have met the enrollment, program, and academic criteria as established by your lender, your loan will be certified up to your remaining annual cost of attendance. Please visit drexel. edu/drexelcentral/finaid/loans/private-loan-programs for additional information about selecting a private loan. How Private Loans Are Certified If you plan on utilizing a private loan, you should apply on an annual basis to cover your costs for the entire academic year. Please do not reapply for multiple certifications throughout the year on a term by term basis. If you are participating in your co-op experience within the school year, Drexel Central will certify your private loan to disburse only during the terms in which you are scheduled to attend classes, as opposed to the terms in which you will be on co-op.
