Applied Cooling Approach

A closer look at this 1.1MW data center layout shows the new compressorized Liebert ® DSE™ with

EconoPhase™ pumped refrigerant economizer along with other key enhancements to bring about a highly efficiency facility. Here the designer chose a perimeter gallery to house the cooling and PDU systems

(though 2 or 3-sided are options). We maintained the 36” raised floor for simplified comparison. The 90 racks are hot aisle - cold aisle with partial containment. The ceiling plenum serves to improve airflow as a return-air pathway.

Applied Power Approach

Electrical Power Design:

Design as Tier 4 rated, utilizing (2) separate utility transformers, and (2) separate main utility switchgear modules. The UPS system consists of (2) sets of (4) 400kVA

Liebert ® NXL™ UPS modules paralleled into a bypass distribution cabinet in (1+N) configuration. Backup power generation provided by (2) 2.5MW generators with separate distribution in a (2N) configuration.

Electrical Distribution Design:

Distribution consist of two-stages using (12) 225kVA

Liebert PPCs in a dual bus A/B configuration The Liebert

PPC will receive power from a UPS distribution panel board.

Each Liebert PPC will power multiple Liebert FDCs, which in turn deliver power to the racks via the rack-based Liebert

MPX™ PDU.
