this means that mixed bronze coins can be
weighed to see how much they are worth.
• Students should be able to see that 8 pennies
weigh about 30 g. Follow up questions (which
you could ask before telling them the answer)

– Do you think 8 pennies weigh exactly 30 g
– What could they weigh? What will 100 weigh?
