Lecture and discussion presented by Jim Chrismer
Tuesday, April 12, 2016
11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | Hays-Heighe House, Room 201
The protest movements in the ‘60s and ‘70s were
not just a part of youth culture. Local activist
Adelaide Noyes, born at the beginning of the
twentieth century, was in her sixties and seventies
and a grandmother of seven as she participated
in national anti-war demonstrations and antinuclear demonstrations, protested locally against
chemical and biological weapons, and staged
“die-ins” in front of the White House. Come learn
more about this remarkable woman.
