Local activist Adelaide Noyes, born at the beginning of the twentieth century, was in her sixties and seventies and a grandmother of seven as she participated in national anti-war demonstrations and antinuclear demonstrations, protested locally against chemical and biological weapons, and staged “die-ins” in front of the White House.
