Permissions for IDEALS Communities – Bill Ingram, Manager, Scholarly Commons & Repository Services (10:15 – 10:45) Content organized around collections o Dissertations & Theses Can search by community o Items can belong in more than 1 collection People organized around communities o Roles, groups, members Rights cascade down to sub-communities o Can use active directory status to add users Users tend to use web discovery (Google, Google Scholar, etc.) for discovery o The community and collection structure is for administrative purposes (distributed administrative model) Up to the community to keep track of users o Easy Search does use IDEALS API Searches full text and metadata Can create an RSS feed for each community and collection Depositors can restrict or embargo content o Lasts for 2 years, can reapply after that through the Grad College 3. Approval of 1/13 minutes (taken by Peg) Minutes were approved as is. 4. Budget update - Melody Per Dean Wilkin, we are doing 3-5-7 budget modeling for FY17 o Still working on 7% model Collection budget o LSD members should look at the Annual Report for FY14 and FY15 Budget Request 5. SOM update – Kelli, Erin, Peg Don’t have enough information yet to make recommendations By 2022, the UIC College of Medicine will not have any more med students in Urbana First class of Carle-Illinois COM admitted in 2018 6. PRI update – Pat, Sarah, Susan, Lucy Collection being incorporated into ACES collection starting this month 7. Committee assignments and reports – AC, CDC, others Administrative Council o Meeting next Monday Executive Council – charged Privacy Policy Implementation Team (built on work of last year’s AC’s Privacy Policy Working Group) o Continuing efforts on privacy policy implementation and education o Recommending a platform (website) where policies can be found o Developing a template for documenting policies Reference Management Team o New Service Model for Main/UGL Hub o Reference Services Retreat Assessment Committee o Continue to discuss and revise the review criteria for LAC Grant o In conjunction with RMT, will be looking at options to replace Desk Tracker RDS o Data management workshops on Feb. 16 and 23, and Mar. 1 o Will be trying new venues for workshops, starting with ACES 8. Round Table Vet Med Library transition o Discussions taking place about what to do with the collection Fast 3 workshops are being offered for free on campus o For hands on tech training 9. Adjourn
